Since its inception in 2004, BRAC Institute of Educational Development (BRAC IED) has been an active advocate and proponent of contributing to the development of education from a holistic perspective through professional development, capacity building, skills development, training and research. The Institute aims to tap into emerging areas of development by exploring areas including early years’ learning & early childhood development, play-based learning methodology, psychosocial wellbeing of stakeholders from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, adolescent mental health, Primary and Secondary education and curriculum & textbook design.

BRAC Institute of Educational Development is seeking to hire Psychologist / Sr. Psychologist who will be working to strengthen community based mental health & psycho social support activities integrated through primary health care services and MHPSS services.

Job Responsibilities:

• Implementing Mental Health and Psycho-Social Support (MHPSS) in a participatory manner.
• Providing the individual counselling to clients on a one-to-one or group basis (working remotely if needed).
• Planning & monitoring the individual, group mental health & psychosocial support activities in collaboration with community psychosocial volunteers/mother volunteers/play leaders and para counsellor.
• Supervising the cases of para counsellor through individual or groups supervision format.
• Developing & adapting Information, Education & Communication (IEC) materials to promote MHPSS services among the community.
• Assisting in developing module & other MHPSS related materials for para counsellor (PC) and community psychosocial volunteers (CPVs)/ mother volunteers/play leaders.
• Building the capacities of para counsellor and community psychosocial volunteers/ mother volunteers/ play leaders including trainings in MHPSS, to facilitate participatory and inclusive activities. 
• Monitoring indicators & targets of the para counsellor and community psychosocial volunteers/ mother volunteers/ play leaders, collect the daily data & share with BRAC MHPSS.
• Contributing to data entry and analysis of gathered information.
• Ensuring consistency in the mental health & psychosocial activities across different locations, initiate & lead meetings for sharing, learning, continuous improvement of activities through the development and maintaining link with other MHPSS actors.

Job Location: Dhaka/Cox’s Bazar

Basic Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Clinical/ Counselling Psychology from any reputed University.
• 1-2 years of experience of working in MHPSS area in emergency settings.
• Willingness of frequent field travel to outside of Dhaka, staying long time in the field with capability of working under pressure.
• The incumbent will require frequent travel to Cox’s Bazar.
